Are you one of those people who want to make a genuine difference in the lives of others? Well then, you might want to consider home care with Home Instead Bristol East.

Here at Home Instead Bristol East, we support older people across Bristol East and nearby areas such as Kingswood, Hanham and Brislington, helping them stay independent in the homes they love. At the same time, we offer our Care Professionals meaningful work, flexibility, and the chance to build lasting connections with local people.

Every Visit Is Important

What makes home care so special is the relationship that forms between clients and the people who support them. Rather than rushing through tasks, you’re spending real time with someone – listening, chatting, and helping them keep familiar routines.

Although many Care Professionals come from other career paths (such as retail, customer service, or childcare), they all have the following in common: they are naturally thoughtful, reliable, and comfortable being themselves, which is why home care suits them so perfectly.

The satisfaction comes from simple moments: helping someone start their day with confidence, sharing a story over a cup of tea, or knowing your visit has made them feel more connected and less alone.

But Why Work in Home Care?

We want every Care Professional to feel supported, valued and confident in their role. Working with us means you’ll have:

– Flexible working hours that fit around your life.

– Pre-work training (and additional learning opportunities) that you’ll be paid for.

– An encouraging local team who are only ever a phone call away.

– At least one-hour visits to ensure proper time for you and the client.

– Meaningful work that helps you make a genuine human connection.

– Options for career growth include senior care professional roles and administrative positions.

Helping You Learn

Everyone joining Home Instead starts with a structured induction, giving you the foundations you need before you meet any clients. You’ll shadow experienced Care Professionals, learn how visits run in practice, and always have someone to turn to with questions.

Your development doesn’t stop there. We offer ongoing training, including the City & Guilds-assured Dementia Care Programme, so you can develop specialist knowledge and feel confident in supporting people with diverse needs. As your experience grows, you may choose to move into roles such as Senior Care Professional, trainer, care coordinator or other office-based positions.

Whatever direction you take, we’re committed to helping you build a long-term, meaningful career.

Putting You in Contact With the Community

Working in home care in Bristol means spending your days out and about in the neighbourhoods you know, helping our clients remain part of their community. For example, you can often find our Care Professionals and clients catching some fresh air in St George Park, browsing the Eastgate Retail Park shops, or grabbing lunch at a favourite café in East Street.

Every day brings something slightly different – maybe helping someone get to a craft group at the local community centre, or supporting a client who enjoys browsing the shelves at their local library. These small, everyday moments are what keep people rooted in their community, and being part of that is one of the most rewarding aspects of the job.
