There are several dementia cafés available around Belfast, aimed at providing support and community for those affected by dementia and their carers.
Located in Magherafelt, not far from Belfast, Milesian Manor hosts a monthly Dementia Café in partnership with Dementia NI and the Mid-Ulster Council. This café aims to support families and carers by offering expert advice from Nursing staff, Carers and representatives of Dementia NI, as well as opportunities to share experiences with other people in similar positions.
The EBCDA runs a monthly Carers Café specifically for those caring for individuals with dementia. This café provides a relaxed space for carers to unwind, share their experiences, and participate in various activities and talks from organisations like Carers NI and the Alzheimer’s Society. It takes place on the first Thursday of every month at the Holywood Arches Library.
This initiative supports carers and those living with dementia through various hubs located across East Belfast. These hubs provide information on dementia-related services and activities. The Alzheimer’s Society offers a range of support services for those affected by dementia in Belfast. These include information hubs, support groups, and resources for carers. The society’s website provides comprehensive information on local services and how to access them.
