Dementia Help: Alzheimer's Society

For this year’s #AlzheimersAwarenessMonth, we're highlighting areas of help available in Barnsley.

Barnsley’s Alzheimer’s Society is a well-recognised and professional charity that offers detailed information and guidance to enable people to better understand dementia. This could help people who may be concerned with their memory loss, those who already have a dementia diagnosis, or even their carers/family members.

“We believe that people with dementia and the people who care for them have the right to high quality services and support, and we work to achieve this through a combination of campaigning, research, awareness raising, training, information provision and the delivery of our own services across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.”

The support offered at Alzheimer’s Society is vast and includes a Dementia Support Line, Dementia Talking Point and Lasting Power of Attorney Digital Assistance.

Their website also details dementia services near you, whether they are connected to Alzheimer’s Society or not, so it’s a great directory to find local help.
