Why Attend?
Lee Harrington, owner of Home Instead Aylesbury Vale and North East Oxfordshire commented: “The Companionship Cafe provides a friendly space for older adults to meet others and have fun in a social setting. Our aim is to encourage those who feel isolated and are not leaving their homes to visit us so that we can support you in re engaging with your community. We offer a supportive environment where they can feel comfortable asking questions and receiving help.”
Socialisation is a key aspect of well-being as being with others to share stories and have fun improves our mental health. By working together, we can empower our community and help older adults to feel welcome as well as let them see that the community has a space for them.
What’s On
Our Companionship Cafe mainly focuses on having a good time. We host different activities on each meet up which include: singing, dancing, movement through exercise and a chat with a cuppa.
Volunteers from the Home Instead team are readily available to provide any guidance and support to attendees, ensuring they feel comfortable in a welcoming environment.
The sessions are completely free, welcoming to all adults and take place twice a month at the Haddenham Community Library.
