Life after Stroke. Social Group - A Place of Support & Friendship

Supporting people and families in our community is a passion of ours at Home Instead Altrincham, Sale and Wythenshawe.

We are aware of the challenges and adaptations the healing journey will present after a stroke. For this reason, we’re excited to spotlight a wonderful local organisation in Sale that provides a welcoming, motivating, and supportive environment for stroke survivors and their families.

Every other Thursday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., Pat has run this small, friendly social group for people who have been effected by stroke. Held at High Lee House, Broad Road, Sale, directly across from Worthington Park. It’s a fantastic chance for stroke survivors and their families to meet people who have gone through similar things, get support, and take part in a variety of fun activities.

The events at the group’s gatherings are varied and engaging. There’s always something to lift spirits and bring smiles, from the joyful tunes of a Ukulele group playing classic 50s and 60s music to the mesmerising performances of belly dancers. Also, engaging talks on the history of Sale and Ashton-on-Mersey by local historians add an educational and fascinating dimension to the meet-ups.

Of course, no event would be complete without a few treats. Members can enjoy tea, coffee, and a variety of biscuits and cakes in a cosy, cafe-like setting (the lemon drizzle cake is out of this world!). Quizzes and other social gatherings are also organised by the group, which adds to the sense of community and fun.

Any new members to this group are greatly appreciated. The life after stroke group provides a safe place for stroke survivors and their loved ones to connect, learn, and progress through this challenging time.

If you’re interested in joining or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact Pat at 0793 990 4777. She is an extremely warm and welcoming lady, who will make you feel at ease straight away.

At Home Instead Altrincham, Sale and Wythenshawe we believe in the power of community and mutual support.
