Looking for some company with like minded people?
Craving engaging discussions and meaningful relationships? Home Instead was thrilled to highlight the Sale PROBUS club, in their Live well, your way magazine as a welcoming space for retired and semi-retired professionals who are enthusiastic about maintaining an active and fulfilling lifestyle.
Probus is more than just a club; it’s a thriving community tailored for individuals who have had significant professional roles and who are of good character and respected in their communities. The name is a combination of the abbreviations of the words PROfessional and BUSiness. Probus is also a Latin word that conveys honesty and virtue, giving rise to the English term “probity.”
The Probus Club movement was established in the U.K. in 1965, starting in Welwyn Garden City. It was founded by individuals who were part of the Rotary Club. Since then, it has expanded its reach to numerous countries across the globe and has become a truly global organisation. There is a Probus magazine that is published quarterly. It is a national publication that allows clubs to communicate, share experiences, and exchange advice or information.
The club is a warm, welcoming atmosphere where you can freely exchange ideas, share experiences, and forge lasting friendships with like-minded peers.
Sale Probus Club has recently amalgamated with and Timperley. They now meet monthly 2nd and 4th Tuesday at “The Avenue Church, Wincham St., Sale M33 4PL at 1.45pm for 2.15pm ending at aprox. 3.45pm.
And if you’re receiving home care, don’t let that hold you back! Probus is a fantastic opportunity to break away from the routine and experience the joy of social interaction. Your Care Professional is welcome too!
Each club operates independently, with no central administration overseeing their activities or dictating their rules and programmes. Probus Clubs are independent of any political or religious affiliations and are not a charitable organisation. However, they occasionally contribute to charitable causes. Certain clubs have membership restrictions based on gender, while others are inclusive to all.
