Rainham Marshes protects 411 hectares of ancient, low-lying grazing marsh in the Thames Estuary. It’s a tranquil spot for all to enjoy. From birds and dragonflies to water voles, this ancient wetland brims with wildlife that can be explored by foot or bike.

Areas of the woodlands, reedbeds and waters provide a home to the resident marsh harriers, ducks, bearded tits-and this summer’s visiting warblers too!

The Horticultural Society in Rainham is a great community of people who love to share their love of all things green; plants.

Their seasonal showcases are something you must see if you are ever in Rainham. They are wonderful and full of local talent.

One of Havering Libraries’ largest branches, located just across from Rainham station, offers a wide choice of printed and spoken word books, as well as computer access, space for local businesses, Amazon locker facilities, room hiring, and events for both adults and children.

Ingrebourne Hill has a wide variety of things for you to do and discover. With 4km of pathways, connections to Hornchurch Country Park, there are plenty of recreational opportunities. There’s so much exploring space, such as taking in views whilst enjoying a picnic by one of the lakeshore viewpoints or just observing wildlife that lives here.

National Trust – Rainham Hall

Originally built in 1737, this charming house is one of the country’s finest examples of an early 18th-century merchant’s home. It is just two minutes’ walk from Rainham Station and situated near a train station.

The space has been open for guests following a £2 million conservation project that saw more than 600 items restored to their original beauty.

With engaging activities and events throughout the year, Rainham Hall provides something for all ages.
