Home Instead York won the Socially Responsible Business Award
The whole team at Home Instead York was delighted to win the ‘Socially Responsible Business’ Award at the York Press Business Awards. Sponsored by York St John University, this award is all about change, encouraging the development of engaged and ethical business practices and demonstrating an understanding and commitment to the role of business in society.
What makes Home Instead York socially responsible?
At Home Instead the service we provide is aimed at supporting older people to continue living at home and enhancing their quality of life. You can read more about what we do here
We have been providing support and care at home to older people in York since 2009. The connections we have made with healthcare professionals and the insights we have from supporting hundreds of older people with home care made us realise that we had a role to play in raising awareness of the challenges faced by older citizens in York.
We have a number of initiatives including our companionship cafes, Home Instead Charities and our “Take A Seat” campaign.
If you have premises in York and would be willing to make a seat and/ or toilet facilities available during your opening hours then you can be part of the “Take A Seat” initiative. By doing this you make an older person’s journey from a bus stop or from their car more manageable and might even make it possible instead of impossible.
If you would like to be more socially responsible and play a part in making York more accessible and welcoming to older people then we would love to hear from you.
