Home Instead Wrexham & Flintshire is proud to stand alongside community partners in supporting Dementia Action Week 2025, a national initiative focused on taking action to improve the lives of those affected by dementia.
Dementia Action Week is not just about raising awareness — it’s about making a difference, and that’s exactly what Home Instead is hoping to do.

A Week of Support at a Place Full of Memories

From 20–22 May, Erddig is transforming into a hub of dementia-friendly activities and warm welcomes.

Our team will be on-site throughout the week, engaging with visitors, offering resources, and most importantly, listening. We believe that being present is one of the greatest ways to show support — whether that’s through a quiet conversation, a shared walk in the gardens, or helping someone find the information they need to support a loved one living with dementia.

Why Dementia Action Week Matters to Us

At Home Instead, dementia care is not just a service — it’s a calling. Our caregivers receive extensive, specialist training in dementia support, enabling them to provide person-centred care that promotes independence, preserves dignity, and enhances everyday life. We see the challenges families face, but we also see the strength, the resilience, and the deep need for compassionate, tailored support that offers peace of mind.

Dementia Action Week gives us the chance to step outside the home and into the community — to offer reassurance, guidance, and solidarity to those who may feel isolated or overwhelmed.

Home Instead is proud to support this week in partnership with:

Dementia Friendly Wrexham, who continue to lead the way in making our local communities more inclusive and understanding.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, offering vital fire safety advice and home checks for people living with dementia.
Alzheimer’s Society who provide a dedicated pathway for people living with dementia, ensuring that the journey from diagnosis to support is a smooth one.
Memories, whose voices and experiences shape so much of this work from the inside out.
Inclusive Arts, a support group that offers a mindful, safe space to people affected by dementia and an outlet to show their creative talents.

Together, we’re not just raising awareness — we’re creating real, positive change.

Whether you’re living with dementia, caring for someone who is, or simply curious about how to be more dementia-aware, we’d love for you to join us at Erddig this week. There will be friendly faces, information stalls, gentle activities, and plenty of opportunities to learn and connect.

Because when we work together — as professionals, neighbours, families and friends — we create communities where people with dementia feel seen, safe, and supported.
