We catch up with Amy, as she returns as Deputy Manager at Home Instead Worthing!
We’re so excited to welcome back a familiar face to our Worthing office—Amy, who has returned to us as Deputy Manager. If you’ve worked with Amy before, you’ll already know she brings a huge heart, boundless energy, and a deep love for care. And if you haven’t met her yet—well, you’re in for a treat.
Amy’s Home Instead journey started back in January 2022, as a Care Professional walking (quite literally!) to visit her clients across Worthing. “I had my driving license but no car,” she laughs. “So I walked miles every day and loved every bit of it.”
Soon after, Amy moved into recruitment, supporting the growth of our care team. But when her dad’s health prompted a move closer to family in Bognor, the daily Worthing commute became too much. That’s when Simon, our franchise Director, offered her a role with the client team at our Chichester office.
As a Care Consultant in Chichester, Amy supported over 110 clients—handling reviews, coordinating care, and building relationships with families. It was a role that helped her grow in confidence and skill. Now, after 18 months there, she’s come full circle—back to Worthing, and ready for a new challenge.
As Deputy Manager, Amy focuses on welcoming new clients, following up inquiries, conducting consultations, and helping manage any ongoing client concerns. She works closely with Julie and Alana—two colleagues she describes as “incredibly knowledgeable and amazing to work with.”
When asked why she’s stuck with Home Instead for over three years, Amy doesn’t hesitate. “I love everything about it—the policies, the ethos, and the values: teamwork, respect, integrity, courage, and kindness. We genuinely do great work with our clients.” She also highlights the strong communication, regular reviews, one-hour minimum visits, and the thoughtful matching of care professionals with clients as key reasons why Home Instead stands out.
But Amy’s not just about hard work—she knows how to enjoy life too. She and her husband recently bought a house in Middleton, joined the local sports club, and now play squash four times a week. On the days they’re not playing, they’re running through the nearby park. “We’re very sociable,” she says with a smile. “We love spending time with friends, family, and my sister who recently moved to the UK.”
Weekends often include staying with her parents, home-cooked meals (she loves cooking with fresh ingredients), and good books. She’s also a lifelong learner—having completed her Level 3 in Health and Social Care, she’s now working toward her Level 5 and stays on top of regular training through the Home Instead franchise.
When asked if she has a personal motto, Amy shares a phrase her mum used to say: “First we work, and then we play.” It’s a perfect reflection of Amy herself—driven, dependable, and always up for a laugh once the job’s done.
Amy, we’re so happy to have you back in Worthing. Here’s to the next chapter!
