Local Community Comes Together to Support Home Instead Charities

Home Instead Wigan was delighted to welcome clients, Care Professionals, families, and members of the local community to a fantastic fundraising event in support of Home Instead Charities.
The day was filled with fun, laughter, and community spirit, as attendees took part in a variety of fundraising activities, including a charity raffle and the ever-popular Bottle-in-the-Bag game. The event not only raised vital funds but also brought people together for a wonderful day supporting a cause close to everyone’s hearts.
One of the highlights of the event was a signed Wigan Warriors shirt and shorts, generously donated by the club. The prize proved incredibly popular, with raffle tickets selling quickly throughout the day before a delighted local resident was announced as the lucky winner.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone involved, the event has already raised more than £540, with fundraising continuing through our Name the Teddy Bear competition. The lucky winner of the competition will receive a fantastic family ticket to a Wigan Warriors home game, kindly donated by the club.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Wigan Warriors for their incredible generosity in donating both the signed memorabilia and family match tickets. Their support has played a huge part in helping us raise funds that will directly benefit older adults within our communities.
A special thank you also goes to Red Pepper Café for their generous monetary donation and ongoing support. Contributions from local businesses such as these make community fundraising events possible and demonstrate the incredible community spirit that exists across Wigan.
Every pound raised will support the work of Home Instead Charities, helping to fund projects that tackle loneliness and social isolation among older adults. From community groups and social activities to initiatives that help people remain connected, the charity continues to make a meaningful difference to the lives of older people across the UK.
Louise, Care Manager at Home Instead Wigan, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported our fundraising day. The generosity shown by local businesses and the community has been fantastic, and every pound raised will help support older adults through the work of Home Instead Charities. It’s wonderful to see so many people coming together to make a real difference.”
The fundraising doesn’t stop there! Our Name the Teddy Bear competition is still open, giving even more people the chance to support Home Instead Charities while being in with the opportunity to win a family ticket to a Wigan Warriors home game.
