Spreading Festive Cheer: 'Be A Santa To A Senior' Campaign 2024 - Results

Spreading Festive Cheer
Home Instead West Lothian are overjoyed by the incredible success of their annual ‘Be A Santa To A Senior’ campaign in 2024, which brought in over 700 thoughtful gifts donated by members of the local community. These presents were lovingly wrapped and distributed to over 500 elderly people across West Lothian that are isolated or otherwise may not have received a Christmas gift.
Launched in 2020, the campaign has grown each year, with residents across Livingston and West Lothian showing tremendous generosity. Donations were collected at several drop-off points hosted by local businesses and community centres, as well as through gifts purchased from an Amazon Wish-List.

A Community Effort
This year’s campaign received overwhelming support, including from:
- Williamson’s, J&R Veitch, Klondyke Livingston, and Mill Garden Centres, as well as Forestbank Community Centre, all of which hosted donation points.
- JBT Foodtech in Livingston and Santa Hamish, both of whom made sizeable contributions.
In total, over 700 gifts were collected, carefully wrapped by the Home Instead team, and distributed to a total of 518 local elderly people.

These efforts were made possible through partnerships with various organisations, including:

A Heartfelt Thank You
Graham Stevenson, owner of Home Instead West Lothian, shared his gratitude:
“We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s campaign—especially the local shops that hosted donation points and the charities and community organisations that helped us distribute gifts. Most importantly, thank you to each person who donated a gift. Together, we’ve shown the power of community and brought some much-needed holiday cheer to elderly individuals across West Lothian. It’s amazing to see how kindness can make such a difference during challenging times.”
