Home Instead Wembley’s Paschalina Pazou wins two national awards for her leadership in dementia care. A proud moment for our team and community.
We’re still over the moon after an incredible and memorable night at the Dementia Care Awards, where our remarkable Registered Care Manager, Paschalina Pazou, was crowned Dementia Registered Manager of the Year!
But that’s not all – in an unforgettable 48 hours, Paschalina went on to win a second national title: Dementia Specialist of the Year at the Stars of Social Care Awards.
It’s an extraordinary double win that reflects the heart, dedication, and visionary leadership Paschalina brings to her role every single day here at Home Instead Wembley.
The Dementia Care Awards ceremony, held on 19 June in London, was a joyful and emotional occasion. Paschalina was joined by our Director, Leena, and members of the Home Instead team for a night of well-earned celebration. The room was filled with professionals from across the country, but when Paschalina’s name was announced, the cheers from Team Wembley said it all.
This wasn’t just a win for one person, it was a win for everyone who’s been part of her journey. For our Care Professionals, our clients, and the families we support, this moment was personal.
“Paschalina is a remarkable winner for her transformative approach to dementia care, blending academic expertise with compassionate practice. Her evidence-based insights have redefined care at Home Instead, embedding meaningful engagement into everyday routines. By reshaping care plans with empowering, strengths-based language and promoting joyful, moment-focused support, she has uplifted emotional wellbeing for clients and deepened purpose for care professionals. Paschalina’s work not only enhances lives but reshapes how dementia care is understood and delivered, making a lasting, positive impact.”
Paschalina is more than a manager; she’s a force for good in the world of dementia care. With a nursing background and a Master’s in dementia care, she’s supported over 150 individuals and reshaped the way we think about dementia in the process.
Her belief that emotional connection matters just as much as memory has led to practical changes in how we deliver care. Her research, which focused on helping people with dementia live fully in the moment, continues to inspire our team to find joy and meaning in everyday interactions.
She’s also led a shift in how we talk about dementia, replacing outdated terms with empowering, strengths-based language that honours the dignity of each person we support.
Those who work with Paschalina describe her as calm, deeply compassionate, and quietly powerful. She mentors our Care Professionals with patience, offers clarity and hope to families in distress, and never loses sight of the human being at the centre of every care plan.
One client’s daughter put it simply: “She gave us strength when we didn’t have any. She made our darkest days feel lighter.”
That’s who Paschalina is: a leader who doesn’t just direct care, but transforms it from the inside out.
This double win is not just a personal triumph. It’s a celebration of the incredible team spirit we have at Home Instead Wembley, and of the partnerships we’ve built with our clients, their families, and local dementia charities and organisations.
We’re so proud to share this moment with our community – the people who make our work so meaningful every single day.
