Hello. We are Home Instead. We offer reliable senior home care in Bushey. We deeply care about our work, and we'd love to show you how we can help you.
At Home Instead, we provide home care with a big dose of compassion. That’s why we offer a holistic approach to high-quality senior care in Bushey.
We tailor our services to meet our clients where they most need help to remain independent in the homes they love. A big part of what we do is reengaging those who have become housebound with a sense of community and offering a gentle and patient approach for those who struggle with ill health or deeper conditions, like dementia.
It is important to us that seniors feel seen, feel heard and feel respected.
That goes for you, too. Families also need compassion and support and we are here for you too.
So, if you need a home care company with expert care pros who can help, we’d love to chat. We have a diverse mix of care pros trained and ready to go.
To deliver you an outstanding experience, we pride ourselves on offering five core elements of home care. These include:
And we can provide as little or as much help as you need, from weekly check-ins to 24-hour live-in care.
“I know that I’ve said it many times, but I want to reaffirm how amazing Janet has been. Mary referred to her as ‘my best friend Janet’. I’ve never seen anyone pass away having been cared for to such a high standard. Mary left this world with not a single bed sore on her body; her skin was in tip-top condition. She was clean and smelling beautiful; even her hair had been brushed.
We will miss having Janet as part of the family, I know it may have been a job for Janet but we saw her as part of our family. A person needs to be special in order for the family to entrust them with a precious relative in the way we did with Janet. I never once doubled Janet and knew that her first priority was always Mary. She always gave 100% to Mary and anyone who visited Mary on a regular basis got to see what an amazing, professional carer she is. I do hope that her next placement will appreciate her as much as we did. We will always remain in her debt.”

After having been a primary carer to her late father and now to her husband, Sara has developed a deep affinity with care work. Sara feels a huge sense of reward for helping someone with even the smallest of things. There’s something about a smile that means so much.
“I joined Home Instead to pursue my passion and help make an impact on the wider community. I get to work close to home with a flexible schedule. And the team is so friendly!
I focus on personal care, companionship, cooking, cleaning, stoma, catheter and food shopping for my clients. And with reasonable visit times, I don’t have to dash off, which means I can really help.
Making a difference in someone’s day (and independence) and feeling how grateful and thankful they are for the help and connection means so much.”
Bernadine (Bee) moved to the UK from South Africa in 2015, having worked extensively on her family’s elephant rehabilitation project, which included safari lodges. Moving in with her brother, she started looking for a new way of living. Sadly, tragedy struck, and just before COVID, Bee’s brother was diagnosed with cancer. Bee became his full-time carer.
Having always admired care professionals, it was only when her brother told her that of all his siblings, he thought she was the most empathetic and sympathetic for this kind of work that Bee finally felt encouraged to apply and start working in the care sector. That’s when she found Home Instead.
“The job (being a Care Professional) has taught me so much. How to have more humility and the power of being humbled. But it has also given me my smile back.
I provide domiciliary care, personal care and palliative care. What I love most about that work is the diversity of the seniors I care for. Their life experiences are rich and varied.
At Home Instead, I get an opportunity to spend time with clients and make what I do about putting their needs first. I also get to work locally, which gives me plenty of time in between clients to visit my brother.”
Yes! We are always happy to support couples through their golden years. Each will have their own dedicated carer(s), but will be managed under one dedicated Care Manager for ease of communication.
That’s not a problem. We will match you with a care pro who loves your pets as much as you do. They can assist on walks, with feeding, and attending vet appointments.
Absolutely. We pride ourselves on offering care services that wrap around your loved ones, giving them the support they need to live independently as they always have.
We can offer help to pray if they need it. If they wish to observe a religious holiday (for example, Hanukkah or Diwali), our carers can assist where needed. If they have preferences or customs around food or people in their home we are happy to oblige.
We offer our clients daily check-ins, plus full phone and email support. You will also have a dedicated care manager overseeing care provision.
And we welcome your input. For us, the best home care is where care feels like home to your loved one.
Hertfordshire County Council can assist you with any claims for adult care costs. Their system is means-tested, and benefits may only cover partial care costs. They should be able to provide you with clear eligibility guidelines.
The cost of home care depends on the complexity of your needs. However, if you need help with household chores, transport to doctor’s appointments, shopping, or outings for just a few hours every few weeks, home care can cost as little as £150 a month.
