Join us at the Home Instead Watford Memory Café

Join us at the Home Instead Watford Memory Café. While many in our community previously knew this gathering as the Rose & Rest Retreat, we have recently simplified the name to our Memory Café to better reflect the inclusive, welcoming social space it has become.
Looking back at our sessions, it is easy to see why these are so special. Over the past year for example, we were fortunate to welcome Gail, a Dementia Care Champion from Bushey House Beaumont; Dr. Suhail Hussain, our partnered GP; and Louise from Be Beautiful by Louise. While the professional expertise in the room was invaluable, the true magic was in the atmosphere, watching hands being gently massaged during pamper sessions, seeing attendees create beautiful works during our arts and crafts time, and witnessing everyone relax into genuine conversation. These moments remind us why gathering together matters so much.
What is the Memory Café?
The Memory Café is a dementia-friendly community hub where friendships blossom and cherished memories are shared. We understand that navigating dementia can sometimes feel like a lonely journey, so we created this space to ensure that individuals living with dementia, their caregivers, and their loved ones always have a place where they feel understood.
Our monthly Café is the place, where:
- People with dementia can engage in stimulating activities designed specifically with their needs in mind
- Family members can connect with others who truly understand their journey
- Carers and care professionals can take a moment to breathe while knowing their loved one is in expert, caring hands
- Everyone can simply enjoy being part of a welcoming community
