We've Launched The Care Skills Academy!

Introducing The Care Skills Academy — where passion meets progress. Our new training hub is here to help every Care Professional grow with confidence, skill, and purpose.

After a week full of exciting announcements, we’re thrilled to finally reveal our latest project — The Care Skills Academy!

Led by our incredible Head of People Experience, Robyn, this initiative has been designed to transform how we support growth, learning, and professional development across our entire team — from our amazing Care Professionals to our dedicated office staff.

The Care Skills Academy will be the heartbeat of our training and development, and it’s packed with exciting features:

  • A refreshed Career Pathway – five clear stages of growth that empower every team member to see their next step and feel confident reaching it
  • An enhanced CarePro Journey – easy to follow, transparent, and supportive from day one. It guides our team through onboarding, mentoring, and continuous development
  • A brand new training space – freshly redecorated in our vibrant new branding (and yes, it’s as swish as it sounds!). Even better, it’s available for other care and training providers to rent for the day!
  • A special focus on specialist training – expanding our expertise in some of the most vital areas of care including dementia care, clinical skills, and end-of-life care
  • Partnership with a new training provider – giving more of our team the opportunity to gain adult social care qualifications and continue building their skill base

And that’s just the start — there’s so much more to come! The Care Skills Academy marks the next big step in our mission to make care a career filled with growth, recognition, and opportunity.

Discussing the launch, Eve, our General Manager, says “At Home Instead Swindon & Vale of White Horse, we know that the quality of care we provide is only ever as good as the training and support we give our team. That’s why I’m so excited about the launch of our Care Skills Academy — it represents a real investment in our people and their development. Good training doesn’t just build skills; it builds confidence, empathy, and a true understanding of what it means to deliver person-centred care. When our Care Professionals feel supported and equipped, our clients feel the difference every single day. I’ve experienced my own journey of growth within Home Instead, supported by a fantastic mentor – Othman (our Director), and I’ve seen first-hand how the right training can transform not only a career but also the quality of care we deliver. The Care Skills Academy will help more of our team go on their own journey — learning, growing, and finding their career path.

Val, our Registered Care Manager, said “I am so excited to see our Care Skills Academy coming to life. Good quality care is essential to provide the best support to our clients. Training gives our team gain knowledge and understanding of their clients needs, and the best approach to supporting them. I have received this through my career with Home Instead, having started as a CarePro, progressing through many of the roles in between to now being the Care Manager. I firmly believe in good quality training and developing good quality Care Professionals.”

Othman, our Director, has a passion for growth and development. About the launch, he said “at Home Instead, delivering high quality care is part of our core values and that can only be achieved by providing our CarePros with best-in-class training and personal development. Personally, this is one of my key priorities as it’s critical to our growth and expansion plans so we can continue to deliver more high quality care in our communities.”

We’re sending huge thanks to our teams for supporting the launch of this project and we can’t wait to share more about it in the future. Keep an eye on our Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn pages for updates and further interviews over the next few months.
