If you’re passing by the Living Well Centre in North Cheam on a Monday, you might hear some familiar tunes ringing out thanks to the arrival of Love to Sing, a community singing group now running every Monday from 10:30–11:30am, sponsored by Home Instead Sutton.
This isn’t just a lovely way to pass the time (though it certainly is that). It’s also one of the most uplifting things you can do for your mental health, memory, and overall brain function, and science agrees.

Let’s be clear, you don’t need to be the next Adele to get the benefits. Research shows that simply singing in a group, regardless of ability, can be a serious boost to both mood and cognition.

At Home Instead Sutton, we’ve seen firsthand the impact of social connection on health and happiness.
That’s why we’re proud sponsors of Love to Sing. We know that creating moments of self-expression and community can be just as important as care plans.
Singing in a group creates instant community. It offers routine, familiarity, and a sense of belonging, all essential ingredients for emotional wellbeing.
Everyone is welcome. Carers, older adults, friends, family members. Whether you’re a confident crooner or a shower-singing soloist, Love to Sing is open to all.
