Dementia Friendly Status

We’re proud to announce that Sutton Coldfield has been awarded Dementia Friendly Community Status 2023 by the Alzheimer’s Society.

Through our experience of supporting people living with dementia or talking to their relatives, we are aware that feelings of loneliness, isolation and anxiety exist. Many just want to talk to someone going through the same experience as themselves. Loved ones are curious about the level of support that is out there.

Our dementia cafes enable those living with dementia to get information and advice about their condition in a supportive environment and offers people the opportunity to meet others in the same situation, all the while taking part in various fun activities to stimulate wellbeing.

If you would like to know more about our dementia cafes or our own care and companionship services for a loved one or private client – including Live-In Care – please don’t hesitate to call our team at 0121 323 4200 or email [email protected]

Scam Prevention

Well done to our very own Care Professional, Ann, with her quick thinking and listening skills, preventing her client from being scammed to give out their bank details, staying calm and reassuring throughout. Thank you Ann, and all our wonderful Care Professionals for your dedication to your roles and going over and beyond the normal line of duty.

Everyone is welcome to take part!

Our memory cafes are designed to help individuals living with dementia, and their families, to connect with others going through the same experiences, and our lovely Care Professional, Lesley, is on hand to put people through their paces with some exercise moves (Love to Move). Love To Move, is a Chair Based Exercise programme which works on bi-lateral asymmetric movement patterns, which can improve cognitive function, co-ordination, core strength and the ability to carry out activities of daily living. This was developed by The British Gymnastics Foundation, who we work in-partnership with. We can also signpost people to relevant organisations/charities who can then provide further support and guidance to ensure you do not feel alone. We will find a way to answer any questions you may have and relieve you or your loved ones of any concerns.
