Why Dementia Care may be right for you

Our one-hour minimum visits give us time to connect, not just carry out tasks. It’s this unhurried approach that helps build trust and allows us to truly understand the person behind the diagnosis. In the early stages, we might focus on companionship and prompting. Later, that support may grow to include personal care and medication. Through every phase, we focus on what the person can still do, helping them retain skills, confidence, and a sense of self. Family members often tell us they feel like they’ve got their loved one back, even just for a moment. That’s the power of the right support.

Cannot fault the care and consideration given to my mother. Home Instead (Stoke Newington, Leyton & Wanstead) are flexible, reliable, dependable, caring, concerned and an absolute godsend. Their care of my mum is brilliant and they often go above and beyond. I honestly couldn’t ask for a better service

Care Professional with client - Home Instead

Home Instead has been excellent, staff and carers have met and surpassed our expectations. My uncle is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s and lives on his own. It is very reassuring for us to know that a carer is going in each morning, administering my uncle’s medication and taking care of his various needs. Each carer has been kind, patient, reliable and shown genuine interest in my uncle. The manager whom I contacted was professional, knowledgeable and experienced.

Home Instead have looked after my brother-in-law for around two years. The carers have been so kind and considerate towards him and cared for him with love and careful attention. I have got to know a number of them personally and they are all lovely. The managers have been very helpful to the family & they have helped us navigate the complexities of the care system – contacting the GP, the district nurse and other services. We are an articulate capable family but it’s been great having Home Instead on our side! We have really felt like we are in a team supporting him to live at home. They are scrupulous around the giving of medication and supporting him with dignity. We are sad that he is no longer able to live at home but very grateful to Home Instead for enabling him to do so for so long.

We had visualised the type of company culture and homecare support we wanted for mum- it only became a reality when we came across Home Instead.
1st class professional approach when responding to our initial enquiries. Management’s professional approach cascades down to the staff delivering the service. Management confident and open responding to our challenging questions, which provided reassurance. Worked to ensure we had a tailored package that meets our needs. The well-trained staff are value for money. ‘Goes the extra mile’ and treats mum with dignity.
Makes effort to engage Mum e.g. reading together from the Bible or biblical materials; watching TV together and discussing issues from it such as ‘who done it?’ detective shows
Tries to think of novel activities of engagement, e.g. puzzles, .. Mum describes her as a ‘good person’
Mum likes how she makes her bed. The added sweet touches from both the Owner and Care Manager bring a smile to mum’s face.
A beautiful blend of home help support and companionship.
Would definitely recommend to others.

The care that has been provided for my father over the last two years has been outstanding. The care professionals have all been extremely kind, compassionate and highly competent and have supported my father with every aspect of his care. The manager has also been brilliant and has gone above and beyond to support many aspects of my father’s complex care needs. Quite simply, Home Instead provide excellent care and I wholeheartedly recommend them.
