Carers Rights Day 2023
Carers Rights Day is a national campaign that aims to raise awareness for the rights of unpaid carers in the UK and to highlight the many challenges they face
This year, Carers Rights Day will take place on Thursday 23 November 2023
The day is an opportunity to ensure carers are aware of their rights, let them know where to get help and support, and raise awareness of their needs
Carers need to know their rights wherever they are in their caring journey and regardless of setting; be that in the workplace, in accessing healthcare, when interacting with professionals or at home
On Carers Rights Day, empowered carers with information and support, helping them to feel confident asking for what they need and challenge things when their rights are not being met. There are several rights that unpaid carers have in the UK, including the right to a Carer’s Assessment, the right to request flexible working, and the right to Carer’s Leave
Carers’ Rights Day is an annual event run by Carers UK, and many carer support organizations across the UK run events to help carers understand more about their own rights
