Personal care is exactly that: personal. We take the time to understand how each person likes things done, from the order of their morning routine to the way they style their hair. Our Care Professionals adapt to individual preferences while supporting safety and comfort. They can assist with shaving, oral hygiene, continence care, mobility, and meal preparation, always focusing on what feels right for the client. Family members are also kept informed through regular reviews and feedback. It’s all about providing the right care, in the right way, with empathy and consistency at the heart of it.
We offer two types of home care: hourly care, where we visit at set times, or live-in care, where a carer resides in the home. Both are overseen by our care management team and delivered by compassionate Care Professionals. Each care package is made up of of a unique mix services to meet your needs.

Families often share how much they appreciate the care their loved ones receive. One daughter wrote: “The care for my mum was exceptional. She enjoyed her visits and the ladies did their best. They were very kind and made sure they chatted with Mum and always treated her with compassion and respect when helping with her personal needs.” Another said: “From the initial contact and through the time our family were involved with Home Instead your care and support were excellent. All staff acted professionally, treating both Mum and Dad with dignity and genuine kindness.” These words mean everything and are the reason we keep person-centred care at the heart of what we do.

Our Care Professionals receive in-depth training in personal care techniques, hygiene, dignity in care, and supporting individuals with specific conditions such as dementia, Parkinson’s, or after surgery. Many also complete additional modules in mobility, fall prevention, and respectful touch. Regular supervision, shadowing, and refresher training ensure their confidence and skill. Every client has a tailored care plan reviewed monthly or more often if needs change. We ask ourselves one question with every decision: would this care be good enough for our own mum or dad? If the answer isn’t yes, we improve it.
We work closely with local GPs, district nurses, occupational therapists, and other health professionals across Southport and Formby to provide joined-up personal care. Our office team is also available to families for updates, questions, or changes – always just a phone call away. Whether it’s helping someone get ready for a family visit, providing gentle support after illness, or ensuring continence care is managed with dignity, we’re here to support health, comfort, and emotional wellbeing. Because personal care is never just about the task, it’s about helping someone feel like themselves again.
