… After being made redundant during the same time that my mum, June, had fallen ill in 2011, the only job role that came up online was something to do with care. It wasn’t something that I had ever considered before…sadly losing her that same year, I felt the care she was given was inadequate. And in that moment, I wanted to dive straight in -giving the support and care to others that my mum didn’t have.
…six years in, I haven’t looked back! It’s completely different to how I expected it to be and my management are great- they care about the carers, too.
…I was invited to have lunch in London with Lorraine Kelly. It was an emotional time especially when I won!
