We are raising money for a charity close to our hearts through an exciting craft challenge - check out or blog post to find out more.
This month, we have decided to take on the Alzheimer’s Society Forget Me Not craft challenge to raise money for people living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s.
We are Dementia care specialists here at Home Instead South East Northumberland, so this is a cause that is close to our hearts.
Alzheimer’s Society is challenging people to create five Forget Me Not themed crafts throughout May; you could knit some tiny flowers, or make cards, one of our Care Professionals, Lesley, has even been painting some lovely Forget Me Not rocks.
Crafts can have wide-ranging benefits for people living with memory-affecting conditions; not only do they help with fine motor skills and self-esteem, but they can actually help improve memory and brain function.
If you would like to get involved, you can download our craft pack here. The pack includes written and video instructions for how to embroider your own Forget-Me-Nots and cards. It also explains how, like Lesley, you can paint your own rocks, as well as crepe flowers and macrame plant hangers.
Donations can be made via our fundraising page.
