A Sweet Day Out at Snugbury's

At Home Instead South Cheshire, we know that great care is about much more than just practical support, it’s about building strong, trusting relationships and creating moments of joy, connection, and companionship. That’s exactly what happened recently, when one of our clients enjoyed a sunny afternoon at Snugbury’s, accompanied by their wonderful Home Instead Care Professional.
Set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, Sungbury’s is a local favourite, not just for its famous ice cream, but for its welcoming atmosphere, beautiful setting, and the simple pleasure of spending time outside. For our client, the visit was a chance to enjoy some fresh air, take in the views, and indulge in a sweet treat. But even more importantly, it was an opportunity to connect, to chat, and to share the kind of companionship that can make a real difference to someone’s day.
At Home Instead, we place a strong emphasis on relationship-led care. We match our clients with Care Professionals who take the time to get to know them, their routines, their interests, and their stories. It’s this continuity of care that allows meaningful relationships to flourish, creating a foundation of trust and emotional support.
Social connection is vital at any age, but it becomes especially important later in life, particularly for those living alone or managing conditions like dementia. Regular social interaction helps boost mental wellbeing, and reduce feelings of loneliness, and support cognitive health. And as this outing shows it doesn’t take something extravagant, sometimes all it takes is a change of scenery, some friendly conversation, and a scoop of your favourite flavour.
We’re so proud of our Care Professionals who go the extra mile every day to ensure our clients feel seen, heard and valued, whether at home or out and about in our community. These everyday moments of joy are what person-centred care is all about.
If you’d like to learn more about how our companionship-led care services can support you or a loved one to live well at home and stay connected to the things that matter mot, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
