Grand Opening of Jackson House

We are delighted to unveil the new home of the Home Instead Sheffield South office, Jackson House, named in memory of Franchise Owner Bryn's mother, Enis Jackson.

In 2006, Bryn and Jill Evans opened the Sheffield and Barnsley offices as part of Home Instead UK. They wanted to deliver an outstanding home care service that would allow older people to remain in their own homes, leading an independent life.

Ever since then, now over 17 years ago, the business has grown from strength to strength and has provided care to over 2000 people in the community. In recognition of just how far the team has come, we were delighted to unveil Jackson House in June 2023 at the Grand Opening of the new home of Home Instead Sheffield South.

An event aimed at bringing together members of the social care, academic and voluntary sector as well as individuals providing and receiving care, we hoped that this would be a great opportunity to connect with the community and leaders in social care with a passion to improve the lives of others.

The building, Jackson House, was named in a moving ceremony, attended by guests including the Lord Mayor of Sheffield, Colin Ross, the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire, Rev Peter Bradley and Martin Jones, MBE CEO of Home Instead UK & International.

Named in memory of Bryn’s grandfather, father to Bryn’s mother, Enis, who became the company’s first ever care professional back in 2006, this was a truly personal touch that echoes everything we strive to achieve here at Home Instead.

Performing the ribbon cutting to officially open Jackson House, Martin Jones said, “The success of your business bears testament to many years hard work and tribute must be paid to your team who are totally committed and clearly love their work.

“The new office looks fantastic and we are all looking forward to seeing what’s next for this dynamic business that is doing so much good in the local area.”

The Lord Mayor, Colin Ross also commended the team and thanked everyone for the warm welcome to the event. He was asked to unveil the building’s name plaque commenting that it was his first unveiling duty in his tenure as Lord Mayor. Thankfully it went without a hitch!

Speaking about the opening, Bryn Evans said, “Jill and I were delighted to welcome so many of our contacts to the naming event.

“The team did a great job organising the event and our thanks go to them for this and for everything that they do for our wonderful clients. We really couldn’t deliver such an amazing service without their commitment and dedication.

“We are really pleased with Jackson House and looking forward to many years serving the local community from our new base, as well as continuing our operations in Sheffield North and Barnsley.”
