The Music & Memory Dementia Café has launched in Angmering, offering free monthly sessions with music, activities and support for people living with dementia and their carers.

We’re so pleased to share that the launch of the Music & Memory Dementia Café at St Margaret’s Church Hall in Angmering was a huge success.

Even with the rain, we had an incredible turnout and it was truly heart-warming to see our community come together for something so meaningful.

A Warm, Welcoming Morning

From the moment people arrived, the hall quickly filled with friendly faces, conversation, laughter and connection. It was lovely to see people living with dementia, memory loss, and their families and care partners enjoying time together in such a relaxed and supportive space.

There was plenty for everyone to enjoy, including:

  • Colouring and crafts

  • Puzzles and memory games

  • Fidget and sensory items

  • And lots of tea, coffee, cake and biscuits ☕🍰

The Magic of Music

One of the highlights of the morning was the live music, with old-time favourites played on piano and guitar. The room truly came alive, a wonderful reminder of how powerful music can be in sparking memories, joy and togetherness.

A Community Collaboration to Be Proud Of

We’re proud to be part of the Arun Dementia Alliance, and to have supported the creation of this invaluable community event alongside St Margaret’s Church and Ayton House Care Home.

A huge thank you to Joseph and the brilliant volunteers at St Margaret’s Church, Caroline from Ayton House, and everyone who helped bring this idea to life over the past year. We were also grateful for the support from members of Angmering Parish Council and a representative from Care for Veterans, who joined us on the day.

Join Us Monthly – 1st Thursday of Every Month

We’re delighted that the Music & Memory Dementia Café will continue monthly, taking place on the 1st Thursday of every month at St Margaret’s Church Hall.
