A Warm Welcome to Counsellor Judith Holt at Home Instead Romford

On 8th July 2025, we were honoured to host Counsellor Judith Holt, a passionate advocate for community wellbeing, at our Home Instead office in Romford. Judith’s visit offered a wonderful opportunity to connect, share, and strengthen our collective mission to support older adults and their families in Romford, Hornchurch, Rainham and Dagenham.

Discovering Our Mission: Care, Compassion, and Connection

Judith arrived ready to learn about our day‑to‑day work—delving into the compassionate caregiving, companionship, and support services we offer to help older adults live with dignity and joy in their own homes. From our specialised dementia care programmes to our tailored companionship visits, she got a real sense of how our team brings comfort, joy, and reassurance to families throughout the community.

Building a Dementia‑Friendly Community

A highlight of the visit was a heartfelt conversation on dementia support. Judith and our team discussed how crucial it is for Havering and Dagenham to become more dementia-friendly, and how together we can champion awareness, understanding, and resources. These partnerships reinforce the idea that caring for our older neighbours is truly a communal effort. We spoke to Judith and explained what we are doing to support our local community to become more Dementia friendly by offering free Dementia Awareness Sessions to local groups/clubs and also recently delivering a child friendly version of the session into local primary schools which has proved a great hit.
