At Home Instead, we can provide day care for your loved one across the areas of Retford, Gainsborough, Bawtry and Tickhill. This allows a combination of support that can include companionship, meaningful activity and staying engaged at home during daytime hours. Our Care Professionals can visit and, together with your loved one, they can bake, play a puzzle or maybe do some simple chair exercises to keep in shape. That is not all, as all our Care Professionals have business insurance and are insured to take clients out and about, whether that be a visit to King’s Park or a regular coffee shop. We are rated 9.9/10 on homecare.co.uk, and this is a testament to our high-quality care services and how we strive to be the best at what we do.

The day care that we provide will be backed up by a plan that is tailored to your loved one, their interests, abilities and what can enhance their quality of life. For any clients in Harworth or Bircotes, this could mean reminiscing to spark previous memories, especially for anyone that is living with dementia. Not everyone is the same, so others can benefit from restorative support that allows them to build up their confidence and mobility at their own pace following a hospital visit or any setbacks. The Home Instead way is a minimum of one-hour visits, as we believe this truly gives the Care Professional time to engage with conversation, building rapport rather than rushing through tasks, and this is the Home Instead difference.

We offer two types of home care: hourly care, where we visit at set times, or live-in care, where a carer resides in the home. Both are overseen by our care management team and delivered by compassionate Care Professionals. Each care package is made up of a unique mix of services to meet your needs.
Companionship care
We carefully match Care Professionals with clients to ensure a meaningful bond is created.
Home help & meal prep
Keeping the home environment clean, safe, and nourishing with home-cooked meals.

Mobility support
Helping your loved one move around their home safely, including transfers and positioning.
Health appointment management
We support you to attend those important health appointments.
Community engagement
We enable you to continue to do the things you enjoy, be it a visit to the garden centre or your local art group.
Transportation
Assistance getting you from A to B, whether it be to go visit a friend or help with your shopping.
Medication management
Ensuring medicines are taken correctly and on time, supporting overall health.
Families often tell us how much reassurance it brings to know their loved one is receiving not only high-quality care but also thoughtful communication and genuine support. Michael H shared on homecare.co.uk that Home Instead “provided an excellent service for my mother when she returned home after a brief spell in hospital following a fall.” He praised the “first-class communication,” highlighting how our care app provides a report after each visit, and added that “the team enabled my mother to stay living at home as independent as she could be.” That combination of clear communication, professional care and a focus on independence is what gives families confidence their loved ones are safe, supported and truly cared for at home.
