Meet Michelle - Our Scheduler

Before joining Home Instead Reigate & Tandridge, Michelle ran a flooring business with her husband. But when he fell ill and the business had to close, Michelle became a full-time carer for him. The experience opened her eyes to the gaps in care and gave her a powerful motivation: to offer others the kind of care she wished her husband had received.

Driven by compassion and a desire to help others, Michelle joined Home Instead a year ago and hasn’t looked back since.

“Everyone in the office made me feel comfortable and supported. I had no formal care qualifications, but the training from day one gave me confidence. The team is amazing, always there when you need them.”

What Michelle loves most about her role is the time she gets to spend with clients. Whether it’s taking someone out for a coffee and a walk, or simply having a meaningful chat, she values the companionship-led approach that Home Instead is known for.

“I had one client who was later diagnosed with the same illness my husband had. It was a tough coincidence, but it meant I really understood what he was going through. We built a special connection.”

While Michelle continues to support clients as a Care Professional, her main role is now Scheduler, which allows her to draw on her previous experience managing fitting schedules in her own business. This hybrid position offers the perfect balance between making a difference through personal client interactions and contributing behind the scenes.
