What’s it really like to Care?

We’re excited to launch a film showing the huge rewards of working in care.

We got together a team of our Care Professionals in one studio to talk all things care, what they enjoy about the role and most importantly why people should consider it as a career.

Speaking during the film, Leena, who is director at Home Instead Wembley said: “I believe that our Care Professionals are absolutely at the heart of everything we do because without them, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. They make such a difference to people’s lives – they enhance what care is.”

But as we see the UK population continue to grow (over 65s now outnumber children under 5) we’ll need more care workers to help look after our ageing population.

“According to Skills for Care, by 2035, nearly half a million workers will be needed to fill roles in the sector,” said Lee Chapman, Director of Brand. “We created this film as a way to highlight the rewards of working in care and to attract new people into the industry.

“At Home Instead, our Care Professionals are absolutely central to our business and it’s important we showcase the rewards, opportunities and the real stories of working in care. If you watch this and think caring could be for you, we’d love to hear from you.”

Comments from some of the Care Professionals included: (Mo) “It’s a rewarding job and very, very humbling and it’s given me a lot of confidence.”

“You’re not just a Care Professional,” said Donna, “They bring you in as part of the family.”

A huge thanks to Home Instead Wembley for finding us amazing Care Professionals to be part of this – Mo, Manbai, Amna, Adjele, Donna and Gurvinderjit. And to Leena and Nipa from the office for sharing their insights too about their Care Professionals.
