Strolll's life changing AR technology at work - transforming Parkinson's!

Helen grasped the exciting opportunity to experience the potential of new augmented reality (AR) equipment developed by Strolll to enhance the quality of life for people living with Parkinson’s disease. This exciting live demonstration showcased the possibilities of AR technology in assisting individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Home Instead takes pride in being the only UK care provider directly partnered with Parkinson’s UK and so we actively look for opportunities to help people living with this condition.

Augmented reality is an emerging technology that overlays digital elements onto the real world, offering a unique and immersive experience. Recognizing its potential in healthcare, Home Instead Portsmouth is exploring the applications of AR to support individuals with Parkinson’s disease. By harnessing this technology, they aim to empower patients and enable them to manage their symptoms more effectively, ultimately improving their overall well-being.

Helen was thrilled to participate in a recent live demonstration in June 2023 where she experienced firsthand the capabilities of the AR equipment developed by Strolll and was quite astonished at the potential benefits of this technology in assisting individuals with Parkinson’s disease. The AR glasses showcased during the demonstration provide real-time visual cues and prompts, aiding people in overcoming movement challenges associated with Parkinson’s. This technology allows users to visualize objects, landmarks, and pathways more clearly, making navigation and mobility safer and more efficient. She had a lot of fun smashing wine bottles!

Thank you to Strolll for taking the time to demonstrate this to us – it really is remarkable and we can’t wait to see how this transforms the lives of people living with Parkinson’s disease. It’s fair to say the audience at the demonstration were mightily impressed!
