Home Instead officially launches in Plymouth following a warm community welcome

Families across Plymouth now have greater choice when it comes to home care, with our experienced local team providing personalised, relationship-led support that helps older people remain independent in the place they know and love most – their own home.
Home Instead Plymouth is led by the experienced team behind Home Instead Tavistock and Tamar Valley, which is rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and recognised by Homecare.co.uk as one of the Top 20 Home Care Providers in the South West for 2026. We’re proud to bring this same established approach to families across Plymouth.
A personalised, relationship-led approach to care
At Home Instead, care is built around people, not tasks. Every client is carefully matched with a Care Professional, with a focus on personality, interests and individual needs. Combined with minimum one-hour visits and continuity of care, this allows genuine relationships to develop and ensures support is consistent, familiar and unhurried.
Our services in Plymouth include companionship, personal care, live-in care, specialist dementia care, respite care and end-of-life support, all tailored to individual needs.
Meeting the Plymouth community
Before officially announcing our launch, our team spent time meeting people across the city and introducing Home Instead to the local community this week. We held a community information day at Drake Circus Shopping Centre, where we met local residents, families and prospective Care Professionals. The event gave visitors the opportunity to ask questions about care at home, learn more about the support available and explore careers in care.
We also attended the Carers Group at Woolwell Centre, where we met local carers and had the opportunity to hear directly about their experiences and the challenges they face supporting loved ones at home. These conversations reinforced the importance of accessible advice and support for families before they reach a point of crisis.
Supporting families when they need us most
Franco Moller, Owner of Home Instead Plymouth, said: “Many families don’t start looking for care until they’re faced with a difficult situation, whether that’s after a fall, a hospital stay, a dementia diagnosis or simply recognising that a loved one needs more support than they can manage alone.
“These moments can feel overwhelming, and people often don’t know where to turn. Our role is to provide compassionate, reliable support that gives families confidence and helps older adults remain safe, independent and connected to the life they know and love.”
Care built on relationships and continuity
Jamie Graham, Client Care Manager at Home Instead Plymouth, said: “We focus on getting to know each person – their routines, interests and what matters to them, so we can carefully match them with a Care Professional who will become a familiar, trusted face. It’s those relationships that help people continue living independently and confidently at home.”
Creating local opportunities in Plymouth
Alongside supporting families, Home Instead Plymouth is also recruiting Care Professionals across the city.
Full training, ongoing support and flexible working opportunities are available, with no previous care experience required. The team is looking for compassionate people who want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults while becoming part of a supportive local organisation.
Looking ahead
Dianne Gettinby, Owner of Home Instead Plymouth, said: “We’re proud to be joining the Plymouth community and supporting local families with care built on trust, compassion and genuine relationships. Every person is different, so we provide care that evolves as their needs change while helping them continue living independently at home.
As we grow our local team, we’re looking for people who share those values. Caring is about building relationships, bringing reassurance to families and making a positive difference every day, and we’re excited to welcome more compassionate Care Professionals to Home Instead Plymouth.”
Whether you’re exploring care for a loved one, looking for advice, or considering a career in care, our friendly team is here to help.
