  1. How long have you worked for Home Instead?

I’ve worked for them now since 2018.

  1. What do you most enjoy about your role as a Care Professional?

I love it, it’s rewarding, I help people and I make a real difference to their lives. This role gives me breaks in the day to keep on top of running my own home, so it works really well for me.

  1. In this “cost of living crisis” how beneficial is it to work in Social Care – what perks do you enjoy?

We get a good hourly rate of pay, pension contributions, our travel time paid and also a petrol allowance – this all makes a difference at the end of the month. I also enjoy lots of benefits from having a “Blue Light Card” and I have received a referral bonus payment.

  1. What advice would you give to someone who was considering changing their career path to one in Social Care?

It’s such a rewarding job to have. I was in catering for 30 years before this and I wish I’d made the move far sooner.
