Supporting Menopausal Hormone Health Through Nutrition

In October, MenoPals Sully enjoyed an informative talk delivered by Jo Crovini – Joanne Crovini Cardiff Nutritional Therapist | Home

The “take-aways” from the evening were to add good things in, rather than deny yourself of anything.

She explained we need roughly 1g of protein for every Kg we weigh and for this protein amount to be spread out across the day.

Our metabolism changes as we age, so we increase protein and fibre and reduce our carbs to aim for a healthy body.

By adding in nuts, seeds, extra virgin olive oil, oily fish, fruit, veg and sustaining a good level of hydration, we can really help manage our symptoms or reduce their impact in our peri and post- menopausal years.

Home Instead Cardiff, Penarth and Barry is a Menopause friendly employer providing sponsorship for MenoPals to help their staff and women in the wider community.
