Neuro Support In Penarth Goes Wild
In May we were thrilled to have Mark from Wild Rhythm facilitate a brilliant percussion session for our Memory and Movement Café in Penarth.
We experienced an exciting mix of directive drumming and shaking of bells and rattles, with some free expression moments throughout.
It can feel quite mindful and almost hypnotic to immerse yourself in this kind of activity, but it’s a great way to keep all of your muscles and reactions working.
It certainly lifted the mood of all our participants who were very clear, after a tea break, that they wanted to continue with some more.
Coping with any neurological condition can be tricky for both those who experience it first hand, and also for those who are in an unpaid carers position.
That’s why it’s so important to embrace outside support to give variety to the person with symptoms and respite for the unpaid carer.
