The Oxford Companionship Care team, here to help every step of the way
Companionship care has been a core part of our services since 2010, supporting thousands in Oxford and West Oxfordshire. It offers crucial social interaction and emotional support, especially for those who are lonely or isolated, particularly when family aren’t nearby. Activities like exploring hobbies, attending appointments, shopping, sharing memories, and doing puzzles are key aspects of companionship care, greatly improving mental health and quality of life. In response to increased demand, we created the WOW (What’s on When) Guide, featuring events and social groups for older people in Oxford and the surrounding areas. Many of our Care Professionals help clients attend these groups, giving them something to look forward to weekly.

Get in touch Why Companionship Care may be right for you
Companionship care is a vital part of our service, though often overlooked. We offer visits lasting at least one hour, typically ranging from one to four hours, and they can be scheduled as often as needed – whether weekly or daily. Staying connected with the community, friends and neighbours is important to many older adults and companionship care helps maintain this connection while staying in their own home. We know finding the right care can be overwhelming, especially when trust is crucial. Regular companionship care builds trust and provides strong foundations for any future care needs. Through our matching process, we ensure that each Care Professional shares your interests, making every visit enjoyable and enhancing quality of life.

We chose Home Instead as my father wants to stay in his home whilst coping with the onset of dementia. As a family, we believe that this is preferable to going into a home and Home Instead have the expertise and experience to make this work. Home Instead have responded fantastically to Dad’s changing needs and nothing is too difficult to do to help him. The carers are exceptionally focused & committed & the management are truly standing by our side and helping us through the process.
