Home Instead Northwich & Knutsford are proud to announce the success of their annual Be a Santa campaign, an initiative designed to ensure older and vulnerable adults across Northwich and the surrounding areas feel remembered, valued, and supported during the festive season.

This year’s campaign received an incredible level of support from local businesses, community venues, volunteers, and members of the public. A wide range of organisations generously acted as collection points, made direct donations, and helped spread awareness of the campaign, enabling Home Instead to collect and distribute many thoughtfully wrapped gifts and festive hampers.

Supporting Changing Lives Together – Buddy & Befriending Service

As part of the campaign, Home Instead Northwich & Knutsford were delighted to donate festive hampers to the Buddy & Befriending Service – a local initiative supporting people who may be suffering with loneliness and isolation, which is part of the charity Changing Lives Together. The gifts were distributed to their Warm Welcome Group’s Christmas celebrations.

Events held in Rudheath and Winsford welcomed over 50 attendees across two days, creating festive afternoons filled with companionship, warmth, and joy. Attendees enjoyed coming together to celebrate Christmas and were each presented with hampers lovingly wrapped and donated by the Home Instead team.

Julie Birtwistle, the Group Coordinator for the Buddy & Befriending Service, said,
“As a charity we have been overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity. The smile on people’s faces has been truly heartwarming as they have received their special gifts. For some, this will be their only gift, so the impact this campaign has had is amazing. We thank (Home Instead) from the bottom of our hearts.”

Catherine, the Community Engagement Officer from Home Instead Northwich & Knutsford, attended the events to personally present the Be a Santa hampers, which were warmly received and greatly appreciated by those attending.
