• What is personal care assistance?

  Physical help given to a person and prompting of an individual to carry out daily living tasks themselves.

• What are the benefits of personal care assistance?

  Promoting good personal hygiene helps to prevent illness and the spread of infection. It also helps maintain self-confidence and dignity.

  A familiar care professional matched with you provides personalised care and support to you in your own home in the way you want it to be provided.

• How will I know who is providing my care?

  We understand that it can be difficult accepting personal care and that is why you will be introduced to your Care Professionals and they will spend time getting to know you before assisting you with your personal care.

• Will I have the same Care Professional?

  At Home Instead we ensure that each client has a small team of Care Professionals in place to provide you with care so you can be confident that you will have continuity from the same Care Professionals.

• How do I know my Care Professional is competent?

  At Home Instead, we have a robust approach to ensuring that all Care Professionals have regular observations of practice that we call Support Visits, and assessments of competency for key activities such as handling medication or providing catheter care.
