Melissa spent the afternoon discussing dementia with this wonderful group of women.

Last Thursday, Melissa had the absolute pleasure of spending a wonderful afternoon with the amazing ladies of the Twyford & Wargrave Women’s Group. It was such an enriching experience to join them for lunch, where she had the opportunity to deliver an informative session on dementia and the support and care available. The group was incredibly engaged throughout the talk, asking insightful questions and showing a genuine interest in learning more about the subject.
Dementia is a topic that’s very close to our hearts, and it was fantastic to see so many people eager to understand more about the challenges faced by families supporting a loved one with dementia. To help further, everyone received one of our Home Instead information booklets, which is packed with practical advice and useful tips on supporting loved ones living with dementia. It’s always so rewarding to be able to share these resources, knowing that they could make a positive difference in someone’s life.
In addition to the information booklets, we also handed out our winter puzzle books, filled with festive crosswords, sudoku, and mindful colouring pages. With the darker evenings upon us, these puzzles are a great way to stay engaged, keep the mind sharp, and bring a little festive cheer to the season.
A huge thank you to all the lovely ladies in the group for their warm welcome and thought-provoking questions. Melissa says, “I always look forward to spending time with them, and I was especially honoured to be their guest speaker this month. It’s a subject I’m deeply passionate about, and having the opportunity to talk about dementia care in such an engaged and supportive environment was truly fulfilling. I look forward to continuing the conversation and working together to raise awareness and provide the support needed for those living with dementia and their families.”
