Home Instead Maidenhead, Henley & Wallingford receive a host of accolades at the recent Berkshire Care Association Awards.
What a day of celebration! During the last week in April, we attended the Berkshire Care Association Awards. It was a fantastic event and we are delighted to share that we certainly received our fair share of accolades. Candidates that made it to the final were shortlisted from over 150 entries across 30 services, so it was a huge honour to be included for so many categories.
Firstly, we are delighted to announce, that out of many nominations, our wonderful Care Professional at Home Instead Maidenhead, Henley & Wallingford, Julia B, won the Homecare Worker of the Year 2024 award! Julia is the most wonderful, compassionate person with such a kind heart which is evident in the work she does, visiting clients in their own homes and enabling them to stay safe and well. As well as the usual day to day support we offer, companionship, home help personal care, Julia takes time to find out more about her clients – she has recently started learning Hebrew with one client after they said they’d like to learn – so her background in working at a school has come in handy there! We are very lucky to have Julia and many more amazing team members like her, here at Home Instead and she very much deserves to now be know as THE BEST CARE PROFESSIONAL IN BERKSHIRE!!
We are also delighted to let you know that out of the 3 finalists, Julia was joined by Rachel S, Care Professional at our other Home Instead office, Home Instead Abingdon, Didcot and Newbury, who received the runner up “highly commended” award. So out of the top 3 finalists, two were our very own Home Instead team members. Proof, as if we needed it, that we have the best people in our team, supporting with the highest quality care. Big congratulations to Rachel who again, is a shining example of what a wonderful care professional should be.
Another worthy runner up, in the Newcomer to care award was Pippa Mcllwraith. Pippa joined Home Instead Maidenhead, Henley and Wallingford as a Care Professional just under a year ago. She was an amazing Care Pro, always keen to help where she could – even during her booked holidays! So when she applied for the office role of Care Co-ordinator, we were delighted! Pippa has taken on this new role as she did her Care Pro role – with capable, calm hands. She is super competent, organised and makes the hard task of scheduling a team of almost 70 Care Pro’s at the homes of over 100 clients look easy! With a background in being a PA at KPMG, we shouldn’t be surprised at how super efficient she is! She is also a joy to have around with her positive nature. Pippa is a real team player and is always willing to help and support where she can – all with a sunny smile!
We also received a Care Service Recognition Award for both Home Instead MHW and Home Instead ADN. The aim of these awards is to recognise the ongoing dedication of all team members within a service who provide excellence in care for all of their service users. It covers a wide range of areas giving an opportunity to demonstrate how our service is striving to promote excellence. So, we are delighted that both our offices received this award.
Big congratulations to Julia, Rachel, Pippa and everyone who works at Home Instead MHW & ADN for being Berkshire’s best!
