Dementia Awareness Day Comes to Lytham

Home Instead Lytham is proud to host two Dementia Awareness Day events, helping local families gain a better understanding of dementia and access valuable support and information.
Whether you’re supporting a loved one, living with dementia yourself, or simply want to learn more, join us for an informative and supportive day.
Step Into Their World: The Virtual Dementia Tour
At the heart of both events is the Virtual Dementia Tour, an immersive simulation that offers a powerful insight into what living with dementia may feel like.
Wearing specialist sensory equipment, from goggles that distort vision to gloves that dull touch and headphones filled with disorientating sound, participants are asked to complete everyday tasks that suddenly become confusing and overwhelming. It’s a short experience, but one that leaves a lasting impression, helping family carers, friends and professionals alike understand the small changes that can make a real difference to someone living with dementia.
Places on the Virtual Dementia Tour are limited and booking is essential.
What Else Is On
Alongside the Virtual Dementia Tour, both events will feature:
Understanding Dementia Talk Learn more about dementia, how it affects individuals, and practical ways to provide support.
Personalised Care Advice Home Instead will be on hand to offer guidance on personalised care options, preventative support, and services available to help people remain independent at home.
HARRI Bus Find out more about local health and wellbeing services available within your community.
