If you’re looking for work that feels worthwhile and fits around your life, Home Instead Lancaster could be just the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

We’re proud to deliver exceptional care to older adults across our community and it all starts with a team that feels confident, valued, and supported.

You don’t need years of experience to make a real difference here. You just need the right attitude, a kind heart, and the willingness to learn. We’ll help with the rest.

Here’s What You Can Expect

We know great care starts with looking after our team. That’s why we’ve built a supportive working environment where people stick around – not because they have to, but because they want to.

– Training that sets you up for success
Everyone receives a full induction, plus mentoring, shadow visits, and ongoing training. You’ll also have the chance to complete City & Guilds Assured Training and work toward an NVQ Level 2 or 3 if that’s something you’re interested in.

– Care that’s never rushed
Our visits are a minimum of one hour, giving you time to build trust and provide meaningful support without feeling pressured or overbooked.

– Fair pay for the whole job
You’ll be paid for your travel time, waiting time, and mileage. We make sure your efforts are reflected in your pay, not just your contact time.

– Wellbeing matters here
You’ll have regular supervisions, check-ins, and wellbeing initiatives. We believe good support helps you do your best, not just get through the day.

– You’re part of a team, not just on your own
With regular Care Professional meetings, team visits, and office support just a phone call away, you’ll always feel connected and looked after.

What Kind of Roles Are Available?

We offer a range of flexible roles, whether you want a few hours a week or are ready to commit to something bigger:

  • Care Professional – helping older adults with everyday tasks, personal care, and companionship (See A Day in the Life of a Care Professional)
  • Mentor or Trainer – supporting new team members once you’ve gained experience
  • Scheduler or Coordinator – making sure our care services run smoothly behind the scenes
  • Admin or Recruitment Support – helping manage the day-to-day running of the office
  • Progression into Leadership – opportunities to grow into senior and management roles

Lots of our team started out with no experience in care and now lead training sessions, support others, or manage part of the service. We’ll help you build a career path that works for you.
