Supporting Dementia Awareness at Knowsley Safari Park

At Home Instead, we are passionate about supporting our communities and helping people better understand dementia. That’s why we are delighted to be delivering a dementia awareness talk for the team at Knowsley Safari Park.
This engaging and informative session will help staff feel more confident when supporting visitors who may be living with dementia. As a popular attraction that welcomes thousands of guests each year, it’s important that everyone who visits Knowsley Safari Park feels comfortable, safe, and supported throughout their day. By learning more about dementia, staff can recognise when someone may need a little extra patience, understanding, or reassurance.
During the session, our team will share practical guidance on what dementia is, how it can affect memory and behaviour, and simple ways to communicate effectively with someone who may be experiencing confusion or anxiety. The aim is to give staff the knowledge and confidence to respond calmly and compassionately in different situations that may arise within the park.
Dementia awareness is not only valuable in the workplace but also in everyday life. Many people will know a family member, friend, or neighbour who is living with dementia, and having a better understanding can make a meaningful difference in how we support them.
By working together with organisations like Knowsley Safari Park, we hope to continue building more dementia-friendly communities where people feel understood and included.
At Home Instead, we believe that small acts of awareness and kindness can have a big impact, and we’re proud to play a part in helping spread that knowledge. 🧠💜
