At Home Instead, we are passionate about providing the very best care for our clients and their families. To continue raising the standard of care, some of our amazing Care Professionals have recently begun their City & Guilds Assured Dementia Training – a specialist programme designed to give deeper knowledge and confidence in supporting those living with dementia.

Day One: Building Knowledge and Understanding

On the very first day of training, our Care Pros focused on two essential areas:

  • What dementia is – understanding the different types of dementia, how it affects the brain, and the ways it can impact daily life.

  • How best to support someone with dementia – exploring practical strategies, communication techniques, and person-centred approaches that can make a real difference in someone’s quality of life.

This knowledge not only builds confidence in our Care Pros but also strengthens the compassionate care we are proud to deliver every day.

Dementia affects not just the individual but also their loved ones. By equipping our Care Pros with specialist skills, we ensure that our clients receive care that is understanding, respectful, and truly supportive. The training is City & Guilds assured, meaning it meets high standards of learning and development – another step in our ongoing commitment to excellence in dementia care.

We’re incredibly proud of our Care Pros for embracing this opportunity to grow their expertise. This is just the beginning of their dementia training journey, and we’re excited to share more updates as they progress.
