Mobility Support and Fall Prevention at Home

As we get older, staying mobile can become more difficult due to balance issues, muscle weakness, health conditions, or reduced confidence. At Home Instead Knowsley & Liverpool East, we understand how important it is for older adults to remain safe, independent, and comfortable at home.
Falls are one of the leading causes of hospital admissions for older adults, but many can be prevented with the right support and a safer home environment.
Mobility affects far more than simply moving around the house. It impacts confidence, independence, emotional wellbeing, and quality of life. Everyday tasks such as getting dressed, preparing meals, or climbing the stairs can become challenging without support, which is why having professional care in place can make such a difference.
Many falls happen because of simple hazards around the home, including poor lighting, loose rugs, cluttered walkways, medication side effects, or health conditions such as arthritis or Parkinson’s. Small changes like improving lighting, installing grab rails, removing trip hazards, and encouraging gentle exercise can significantly reduce risks and improve confidence.
Our Care Professionals provide personalised mobility support tailored to each individual’s needs. This may include helping clients move safely around the home, assisting with getting in and out of bed or chairs, accompanying walks, and supporting personal care routines. With minimum one-hour visits, we can provide compassionate, unhurried care while building genuine relationships with our clients.
At Home Instead Knowsley & Liverpool East, we believe the right support helps older adults maintain independence for longer and continue living safely and happily in the place they know and love most — their own home. If you would like to learn more about mobility support or fall prevention care, our friendly team is here to help.
