Finding Strength at 98: How We Support Our Clients to Keep Living Life Their Way

At Home Instead Knowsley and Liverpool East, we believe that age should never be a barrier to doing what you love. That’s why we were so inspired by one of our amazing clients, Tom, who at 98 years young still makes time every week to attend his Tai Chi classes — with a little help from our Care Pro’s.

Tom has always had an active spirit. When he first joined us, one of his goals was simple but powerful: to stay mobile and connected with his community. So together, we worked out a plan to make that happen. Each week, one of our friendly Care Pro’s accompanies him safely to his class, and stays close by to offer support when needed.

For Tom, Tai Chi isn’t just about physical movement — it’s about balance, wellbeing, and joy. He says it keeps him feeling young, both in body and mind. For us, it’s a perfect example of what our care is all about: helping people live life on their own terms.

Whether it’s joining a community class, meeting friends for coffee, or simply getting out for a walk in the fresh air, we’re here to make it possible. Because we know that independence and connection are just as important as care and safety.

If you or a loved one would like support to keep doing the things that make life meaningful, we’d love to help.
