Spreading Christmas Cheer After Collecting Over 200 Gifts Through ‘Be a Santa’ Campaign

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of our 11th 'Be a Santa' Christmas gift-giving campaign

Home Instead Ipswich is delighted to announce the successful completion of its annual Be a Santa Christmas gift-giving campaign, following two wonderful collection days at Sainsbury’s Warren Heath.

Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the local community, more than 200 gifts were donated, wrapped and distributed to older people and those in need across the area, helping to spread warmth, kindness and festive cheer this Christmas.

The campaign took place over two days at Sainsbury’s Warren Heath, where customers, colleagues and volunteers came together to support the initiative. The collected gifts have since been carefully wrapped and distributed to local churches, including Hope Church, the Salvation Army, and district nurses, ensuring they reached individuals who may otherwise have gone without a present this Christmas.

In addition to gift donations, the team was deeply touched by the kindness of those who took the time to handmake blankets, adding an extra layer of comfort and care for recipients during the colder months.

Commenting on the success of the campaign, Community Engagement Officer, Latitia Fadeyi of Home Instead Ipswich, said:

“We have been truly blown away by the generosity and kindness shown by our local community. Collecting over 200 gifts is an incredible achievement and will make a real difference to so many people this Christmas.

“Christmas can be a particularly lonely time for some, and these gifts are about so much more than what’s inside the wrapping; they are a reminder that people are thought of, valued and cared for.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to Sainsbury’s Warren Heath for welcoming us into their store once again, and to everyone who donated a gift, helped with wrapping, delivered presents, or lovingly handmade blankets. Every single contribution has helped make this campaign so special.”

Home Instead has been running the Be a Santa campaign nationally for over eleven years, during which time thousands of gifts have been collected and shared with older people in local communities, helping to reduce feelings of isolation and bring festive joy.
