A Few Wonderful Weeks: Snakes, Seaside Tea and a 100th Birthday Celebration
The past few weeks have been full of special moments, smiles, and celebrations across our Home Instead Ipswich, Woodbridge & Felixstowe family. From exciting visits at our Memory Lane group to birthday celebrations and everyday companionship, it’s been wonderful to see so many clients enjoying meaningful moments together.
One of the highlights was a recent visit to our Memory Lane Support Group from the amazing team at Snakes Alive. Clients had the opportunity to get hands-on with a variety of fascinating animals, including two snakes (one of them a python!), a bearded dragon and a tortoise.
For some clients, it was their very first time holding a snake. A few said they had never had the opportunity, and they absolutely loved it! There was plenty of curiosity, laughter and bravery as everyone got involved, and the room was full of smiles as people enjoyed such a unique experience.
Of course, it’s not just the big events that make life special. We’ve also been enjoying the everyday moments that mean so much. One of our clients recently enjoyed a lovely trip to Felixstowe seafront with her Care Professional, stopping for a cup of tea and a toasted teacake while taking in the view. Another client has been busy in the kitchen making delicious homemade soup, proof that a little support can help people continue doing the things they love.
We’ve also had plenty of reasons to celebrate. Over the past few weeks we’ve marked several birthdays (with plenty of cake, of course!), including a truly remarkable milestone, a 100th birthday for one of our wonderful clients. Even more inspiring is that she donates her birthday money to charity each year and has now raised almost £10,000. What an incredible achievement and such a generous spirit.
There has also been some exciting news for our team. We are proud to have achieved the WorkBuzz Employer Award for the third year running, reflecting the positive feedback from our amazing Care Professionals and office team. It means so much to know that the people who make our care possible feel valued and supported.
And finally, we’ve been spreading a little extra joy by delivering flowers to clients who are celebrating anniversaries with us. These milestones are incredibly special, and we love taking the time to recognise and celebrate them together.
From adventurous animal encounters to quiet cups of tea, birthday celebrations and meaningful milestones, the last few weeks have reminded us how important these moments are. We’re so grateful to share them with such wonderful clients, families and Care Professionals.
