What Does A Two-Hour Visit Look Like With Home Instead?

At Home Instead Inverclyde and North Ayrshire, we believe that quality care takes time.

At Home Instead Inverclyde and North Ayrshire, we believe that quality care takes time. That’s why we offer a minimum of one-hour visits, because real care isn’t rushed. But what could a two-hour visit look like? Let’s walk you through a typical morning with one of our wonderful Care Professionals and a valued client.

A Warm Welcome

The visit begins with a friendly smile, a hand wash, to ensure safety. Our Care Professional checks in with the client, asking how they’re feeling today. A quick chat sets a positive tone for the visit and then it’s time for a comforting cup of tea.

A Helping Hand Around the Home

While the client enjoys their tea, the Care Professional gets on with some light housework: tidying up dishes, putting a washing on, and making sure the home feels fresh and welcoming. These small tasks make a big difference to daily life.

Getting Ready for the Day

Next, it’s time to help the client get up and ready. With gentle support, they’re dressed and feeling their best. Breakfast follows, toast and jam, just the way they like it, along with a second cup of tea. As they get ready, conversation flows naturally, often about family photos dotted around the house. These moments of connection are priceless, and offer connection and comfort.

A Trip to the Shops

With everything in order, it’s off to the local supermarket. The client picks out items for lunch and dinner, plus a wee scone for later for the pair. Outings like this aren’t just practical, they’re social and uplifting, helping clients feel part of the community and promoting independence.

Back Home and Settled

Once home, the shopping is put away, and there’s time for that scone and another cuppa before the visit ends. The Care Professional even prepares lunch to keep in the fridge for later, ensuring the client is set up for the rest of the day.

Why Two Hours Makes a Difference

A two-hour visit allows for more than just essential care, it creates space for conversation, companionship, and meaningful activities. It’s about living well, not just getting by.
