Driving excellence for our Care Professionals at Home Instead Ilkley

At Home Instead Ilkley, we offer a comprehensive annual training calendar to ensure that all staff – both Care Professionals and office based – receive an enhanced induction programme with ongoing learning and development opportunities.

All Care Professionals, whether they have experience in care or not, complete a 12-week programme to work through the Care Certificate and training; including our extensive four-day induction training. When Care Professionals join the team, we offer a personalised shadowing programme for them based on their experience. We also have all existing Care Professionals shadow before they meet a new client so they are prepared and knowledgeable before their first visit; this enables the client and Care Pros to build a caring relationship.

Our enhanced training programme has been developed to ensure that our staff are able to better support advanced needs of clients.

This includes:

  • City & Guilds Assured Dementia training
  • All care professionals who support clients with Parkinson’s complete the Parkinson’s UK Excellence Network training
  • City & Guilds Assured End Of Life

In addition to Dementia and Alzheimer’s, End of Life and Parkinson’s training, we have invested in more specialist training including stoma care, catheter care, and more. This is to provide our Care Professionals with the tools they need to support our clients with more complex needs.
